Ingredients

  • For the cake
  • 6 oz Self Raising Flour

  • 2 oz Plain Flour

  • 6 oz Caster Sugar

  • 6 oz Margarine

  • 3 Eggs

  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence

  • For the Filling
  • 125 g Butter

  • 250 g Icing Sugar

  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence

  • Small punnet of strawberries

Directions

  • Line your cake tin
  • Mix together your butter and caster sugar
  • Add a little egg and a little flour and stir in – keep adding until all blended in
  • Add your vanilla essence
  • Place mixture into your cake tin and place in the oven at 160 degrees for 45 mins-1 hour
  • leave to cool
  • Mix together your icing sugar, butter and vanilla essence
  • Cut the cake in half and pipe or layer on some butter cream onto the bottom layer
  • Slice your strawberries and place them evenly around the buttercream
  • Place the top half onto the cake
  • Again pipe on your buttercream onto the top of the cake and add your blueberries in the shape of a heart and some sliced strawberries on top

Notes

  • You can substitute the buttercream for real cream but please remember that you will need to refrigerate the cake after doing so.
